Hmm...where are you going Peter?!!!

Can't believe it's been more than a week since we brought Eli home. Eli has been such a good baby and gradually getting a hang of his daily routine. He sleeps as long as 5 hours at a time!!! Can you believe it? Peter's parents, who are visiting us this week keep telling us how lucky we are having such an easy-going baby.

However, doesn't matter how easy-going Eli is, feedings and diaper changes in the middle of the nights are inevitable. Peter, being a wonderful hubby and daddy, covers for me whenever possible. And Peter can be quite entertaining when he's really out of it. For example, Peter volunteered to put Eli to bed the other night, but Eli wouldn't cooperate with him and stayed up till 4am! I got up to nurse Eli and send Peter to bed. When I returned to bed, Peter and I had the following conversation:

Peter: Is baby sleeping?
Jenny: Yeah.
----All of a sudden, Peter sat up and got off the bed. At first, I thought he needed to use the bathroom, but then he started walking out of our room.----
Jenny: Hmm...where are you going Peter?!!!
Peter: Going back to our room! (Peter was all adamant about it.)
Jenny: Agh honey, YOU ARE IN OUR ROOM.
Peter: Oh. (Walked back to our bed and passed out immediately.)

And of course, Peter didn't remember any of these the next day...

Similar thing happened again last night. Peter's mom got up in the middle of night to change Eli's diaper (bless her heart) and woke us up telling us that he's hungry. I asked Peter to follow his mom downstairs and bring Eli up for feeding when she's done changing him. Peter got out of the bed and a minute later he asked, "What am I supposed to do again?" I kindly reminded him of his duty. Ten minutes later, Peter hadn't shown up with Eli, so I went downstairs to check on them. Peter was half asleep on the couch. I woke him up, then he asked groggily, "Oh, so what was I supposed to do again?"

Speechless.
